I had no idea Craig Anderson was ever a St. Louis Blue, however briefly. |

On paper, that looks like a pretty decent team. - Chip McCleary
Say what?
Not as far as I'm concerned. That is one sad collection of Bloosers in my book.
There's not one guy on that list that I would care to have back. There's a name or two that are decent guys but are not upgrades over what the Blues currently possess.
Which to me is striking. Usually there's ex's out there that you really regret losing.
That list is pitiful. Doug Armstrong is a freaking genius. That list could be sponsered by Waste Management.

It was kind of tongue-in-cheek (as evidenced by a few of the comments about guys), but look at it this way: if everyone had hit their potential, that wouldn't have been a bad team (hence, the "on paper" part). Of course, we all know they didn't hit their potential (and in some cases, fell well short of it) - which is what makes the list especially sad. I guess I could have qualified it with the remark on potential, or "when everyone was in their prime, ..."
Your point about not wanting any of them back at this point in time is spot-on. The really scary thing is that this is probably the first time in over 25 years where you could say that, though. Even if you extend this list to guys not in the NHL (Junland, Palushaj, etc.) you're hard-pressed to say, "man, we would have been so much better off keeping _____ - but instead, we're stuck with __________." |

Is Brent Johnson retired, or still looking for a team? He was on the President's Trophy team, though he was only dressed as a backup, didn't play, if I recall correctly.
Couple little questions for the Q&A:
Previously, general consensus had the teams biggest need as a partner for Petro. With the signing of Redden and steady but not spectacular play of Cole, would you still consider this the teams biggest need, and if not, what is?
Your guess on the next number retired/honored by the Blues? Similarly, next Blue to join MacInnis, Hull and Ferderko out front?
(My Answer: Backes, as I believe he will stay with the team long term and be the first player to lift the cup as a Blue. Outside him, perhaps Jackman or Pronger for the former, and if not them, we're waiting till names like Pietrangelo, Oshie, and Tarasenko are wrapping up their career.) |

Yes, he does - I clearly looked at the wrong column on his stat line. Fixed now. |

Speaking of Crombeen, he just took on Chris Neil and lost by major decision. |

We're looking for good left Dmen and as far Nikithin goes I think we lost a good one. His game is improving but on teams like COlumbus it is tough to gauge a player b/c who knows how bad he was left out to dry.
I saw a couple of clips and Erik Johnson looked like the guy we thought we drafted. It was just some parts of a game but he was dominant at both ends and confident. Making me think about that trade again as Stewart thus far has fizzled out. That leaves Rattie or if Stewart continues to show some issue moving him by the deadline for a pick up. |

Nikithin and Salvador over Jackman and RUssell is an instant upgrade. Though Salvador had that issue on the break out. Maybe that problem is gone. |
